Questions & answers

Everything you might wonder about, in plain words.

Getting started
How do I make an account?
Tap the invite link a family member texted you, choose a password, and you're in — you'll land right in the village. One link, that's it.
I forgot my password.
On the log-in page, tap “Forgot your password?” and enter your email. We'll send you a link to set a new one (it works for a few days).
How do I add my phone number, and why?
Go to Settings → My profile and add your cell number. It lets the family FaceTime you right from the app, and it's how you can get text reminders if you turn those on.
The calendar
How do I add an appointment or activity?
Open the Calendar and tap the . Pick an appointment, an activity, a birthday, or a family visit, fill in the details, and save. Switch between Month, Week, and Day up top.
What is “How days went” on the calendar?
Tap “How days went” and each day shows a color for how she felt, plus little dots for pain, appetite, and whether meds were on time. It fills in on its own from the journal and med tracker — a quick way to see how her week went.
Medications
How do I write down that she took a dose?
Open Meds and tap “Log dose” when she takes one. That's what lets the calendar show whether doses were on time — and keeps anyone from double-dosing.
How do I add a medication?
On the Meds tab, add the medication and its times. The times use a little scrolling clock, and you can add as many a day as she needs.
The journal
How does the journal work? Do I have to rate her mood?
Tap New entry, pick who it's about, and jot a few words about the day. Rating her mood is optional — some days you're just leaving a note, and that's perfectly fine.
Helping Hands
What is Helping Hands?
It's where anyone can ask for a hand — a ride, a pickup, an errand, some company — and anyone can sign up to help. Like a shared list of small favors.
How do I ask for a hand?
Open Helping Hands, tap into “I need a hand with…”, type it in plain words (like “help picking up Grandma for church”), pick how many people you need, and tap Ask. No date needed.
How do I volunteer for one?
When someone posts a request, tap “I'll go.” They get a little “someone's in!”, and it ticks off once it's handled.
Messages
How do I message the family?
Open Messages. There's a Village-Wide thread everyone's in. To talk to one person or a smaller group, tap “New message” and start a group or private chat — name it, and leave it whenever you like.
Notifications
How do I choose what I'm told about?
Go to Settings → Notifications and follow what you care about — her meds, journal notes, messages — and turn the rest off.
How do I get texts, emails, or phone alerts?
On that same Notifications page, flip on Email or Text (add your phone number first for texts), and tap “Turn on push notifications” for alerts on your phone. There are “send me a sample” buttons to test each one.
What are quiet hours?
A window — say overnight — when your phone won't buzz. Texts and push pause during it; the in-app bell still updates quietly.
Notifications aren't showing up on my iPhone.
On iPhone, add Willow Village to your Home Screen first (Share → Add to Home Screen), open it from that icon, then turn on push. Apple only allows alerts once it's added that way.
Family & roles
How do I invite family?
Go to Settings → Family and share the invite link — text it, AirDrop it, however. Everyone uses the same link.
What do the roles mean?
Organizer runs things (money, members). Caregiver is hands-on with tasks, meds, and the calendar. Loved one gets a simple screen to stay in the loop and send love. An organizer sets each person's role on the Family page.
Can Grandma manage her own care?
Yes — when she's ready, she taps “I'm ready to help manage my care” on her screen, and an organizer approves it. The app grows with her.
Money
How does paying work?
Willow Village doesn't move money. It keeps costs in one place, and when you pay a caregiver or pay someone back, it hands you off to Venmo, PayPal, or whatever they use.
Privacy
Who can see our information?
Only members of your village. Everything is walled off per family at the database level — other families can't see your circle, and you can't see theirs.
Ideas & feedback
How do I suggest an idea?
Open the Suggestion board, add your idea (signed or anonymous), and tap the heart on any idea you love. The most-loved ones rise to the top.
